I confess: I can be a bit of a TV junkie. Chuck, 24, The Office, Parks & Rec, The Middle, even (ahem) The Bachelor. Which means that this time of year when nothing is on except for reruns and The Bachelor Pad, evenings can be a teensy bit boring. And, by a teensy bit boring, I mean my husband and I put the kids to bed and then sit on the couch and wonder if we should wake them up again just so we have something to do. Okay, so we haven’t gone that far, but you get the picture.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, we invented a game that has kept us entertained every night for weeks now. It’s super fun. And you should try it– there’s still two weeks until the fall lineup begins.
Here’s how to play:
1. Get out two pieces of paper. Label one with the numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and the other with the numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. One of you take the even #’s and one of you take the odds.
2. Each person get to write one thing that they want to do– from watching a movie to talking about a certain subject to cooking a favorite recipe– next to each number.
3. Get out two dice. Roll. Then do the activity next to the number you roll.
We’ve had so much fun the last couple weeks. We looked through cookbooks to choose recipes for future dinners (my husbands activity, obviously) and watched an old movie with popcorn and…well, I don’t need to get into details about the activity we rolled the other night…
