June Reading Round Up: Erin’s Favorite Reads

It’s finally summer… which means I’ve had more to read.  Here are my favorite book pics from the last month:

I’ve read a lot of “get happy” books but none were as inspiring as my friend Bill Geovannetti’s new book.  Bill set out to answer the question “is contentment possible” and in doing so, he explains how Christians can find joy in each and every situation.  You’ll find yourself turning towards Christ and finding your joy in Him and through Him instead of through the worldly places where people tend to seek happiness.

Oh. My. Goodness.  Dabney’s story is a real life miracle story and it’s so incredibly powerful and inspiring that you can’t help but praise God as you read.  I am not kidding…. you have to read Dabney’s story.  You’ll be blown away at her strength, tenacity and hope in spite of incredible odds.  What a powerful testimony about the miracles of the God we serve.

As you probably know, I’m a HUGE fan of Olivia Newport’s.  She blew me away with her debut, The Pursuit of Lucy Banning and continued to do so int he next three books she wrote.  And In Plain View was no exception.  It’s a fascinating story with characters I adore (oh, Rufus Beiler) and lots of fun facts about Amish culture and the Revolutionary War.  I loved it.

I love a good love story and Michelle Ule’s debut is a quick, light and fun read that will draw you in on the first pages with characters that you’ll actually like and a story that you’ll actually believe.  If you’re looking for a fun summer afternoon read, here’s your book.
