I just got this book in the mail and I can’t wait to read it to my kids (my husband has a strict rule that we can’t read Christmas books until after Thanksgiving). The book is about a family who places a sparkling silver box on their mantle. Every time they show God’s love to others during the holiday season, they put a slip of paper in the box detailing their service. So, for example, if you help out in a food bank or give a gift to the poor, you write it down and put it in the box. On Christmas morning, the family opens the box together and reads aloud the acts of service as a Christmas gift to Jesus.
Here’s the best part: The book comes with a sparkle box! It’s tiny and silver and I already put it together. I’m going to read the book to my kids on the day after Thanksgiving and then we’ll work together to give Jesus “gifts” throughout the holiday season. What a fun family tradition! I can’t wait to get started.
